Drew's latest bedtime request has been, "Please, may you get me a paper and crayon?" As any good mother of a spoiled youngest child would (I can say that because I am a youngest), I trot off to the office to get my son paper, a crayon, and a clip board. I lovingly deliver his request to him with a smile followed by a stern, "NO MORE, Drew. It's bedtime! I mean it!"

Well, I usually do mean it....unless... he comes running out of his room with such glee that I can't possibly ignore. "Mommy, I drawed it! It's you and it's me! And it has hair!" How can I get after him for this? A portrait of me with my little guy. I do love him so!

When the subject is strong, simplicity is the only way to treat it.
