2010: me and you

A new year. A new...umm...online place to post stuff (I'd hate to use the term blog, as blogs are considered a thing of the past). New collegiate adventures. New goals. New truths. Newness. I hope to keep this online space quaint. In closing Fusion Photography and subsequently taking down my website and my blog, I feel a strange emptiness in no longer having someplace to share my tidbits. My rants. My stories from the front lines of parenthood. Those funny things kids say that only a mom would care about (but I'll post them here anyway, assuming you will also care). My photos...of course my photos! So, welcome. Welcome to 2010. Come along on this wild ride with me, if you like.

For 2010, as with all previous years, I resolve not to make resolutions, but rather find a path of meaning that I would like to follow. My path of meaning for 2010 is ripped off from Rumi.

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whomever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
