a little family hike | more from august

Skipping on through memories from the month of August with our last summer adventures makes me feel giddy that I'm getting caught up on my lackadaisical posting and sad that my summer sun has left me. Actually, I'm not all too sad that summer is over. I mean, I love the sun and jumping in the lake, but I'm equally excited about some cozy winter family time. I suppose that's the beauty of living in Oregon; for it's these breezy, brisk fall days and bone chilling winter nights that makes summer all the sweeter.

Just a few pics from our hiking adventure in the Sky Lakes Wilderness. Simply gorgeous up there...

Our little dude with his "hiking pack". He even carried his own sandwich and snacks in that bag. Of course Steve ended up with it at the end...or was that me?

You can see my years as a professional photographer really paid off in this image. Way to frame her smack dab in the middle of that photo. Ack! Beautiful lake, though... and a pretty cute kid, too. :)

Ironically, Liv loves fishing the most out of all three (at least for now), but when anyone catches a fish she bursts into fits of tears because she can't tolerate it when any living creature is injured. I guess I should be more sensitive when I thwack them over the head...at least when she's watching.

Oh WAIT! Livy ended up carrying Drew's "hiking pack" - haha!

The three sweets!
